HAPPY YEAR OF THE WOOD HORSE EVERYONE!!!!
Dr. Sun Yat Sen gardens hosts a bit of a celebration every year along the path of the Chinese New Year parade. Adrian and I donated our time and set up in one of the rooms in the garden to serve tea for all of the traffic.
A couple hundred people came through the gates on Sunday. I believe the turn-over of people participating in tea was enormous. 8 people at a time per table, and about of 15 minutes each. So that's about 200 people per table! It's good we had two tables this time, because I'm pretty sure we would have been overwhelmed with any less.
It was a hustle, and it was blissful. I repeated the same lessons over and over again. Teaching people why we rinse the pot, why we rinse the cups, how old a pu-erh can be, what kinds of flavours to expect. I guess by the end of it, I likely imprinted a few lessons on myself! I certainly made a lot of people's day a little bit more educational.
On the Wednesday prior to the New Year, I did an interview with Shaw tv.
I think they did a good job editing the good parts in, but I wasn't on my game, so I didn't blow anyone's mind away. And I didn't get any website traffic because they didn't get to include my website in the segment.
It was a good New Year, and as a result, my website is up and running and pushing forward! Exciting prospects for the near future.
Keep your tea cup full, my friends.
A post about a new Peony white is coming soon.
